Magic Show

Some pictures I took at the Magic Show talk and tea party last week. I created some magic flying animal cushions for the exhibition and wall stickers which turned into hanging mobiles. Also at the exhibition was Sarah Ray's wonderful Barbara on her magic carpet, Ruth Green's beautiful paintings, Kate Hindley's lovely wooden birds and Mina Braun's fabulous prints and many other magic pieces created by Girls Who Draw. Karoline Rerrie gave a presentation on self promotion and how to be self published which ended with more tea and cake and portfolio reviews. To see more photos of the exhibition click on this link.

An illustration I created for the April issue of Your Cat Magazine. The fictional tale was written by Miranda Dickinson.

At the V&A Museum Of Childhood

I had a great time at It's Your Write at the V&A Museum Of Childhood last night organised by The Papered Parlour. There was the worlds largest knitted poem at the entrance. My friend Katriona Chapman also had a stall there, I love her Beautiful Birds colouring book. Zeena Shah was taking a statement badge making workshop and I also took part in making a zine organised by Alternative Press, distributed at the end of the night. I had a little look at all the wonderful things in the muesum and came across some lovely toys and the most amazing chair! The cat chair was made by Gerard Rigot.

Events and Exhibitions

The illustration collective I am a part of Girls Who Draw will be putting on a Magic Show as part of the limited edition postcard book, available in my shop. We have interpreted the theme of magic and created new work especially for the exhibition. Solihull Gallery 04 April - 11 June 2011.
I will also be taking part in an event organised by The Papered Parlour called 'It's Your Write! A Celebration Of The Self Published'. It will be held at The V&A Museum of Childhood. There will be a market featuring 20 self-publishers and artists plus workshops, live music and performances. Thursday 7th April 6pm - 9pm.

At Cabbages

Some photos I took at the Of Cabbages & Kings market last Saturday. I wanted to take many more photos of all the fantastic work there but the day went so quickly! Above shows the wonderful work of James Ward, and of course I loved the cat cushions made by Laura Knight and Kate Clarke's lovely designs. I was sitting near many yummy cakes, very tempting!

Designer-Maker Market
